Varieties of Arabica coffee in the highlands Gayo

AGRICULTURE- Varieties of Arabica coffee in the highlands Gayo relative plenty, like Bergendal , Sidikalang , Rambung , Line - S ( muddy ) , USDA , Catimor Jaluk ( Ateng Jaluk ) , Ateng Super , BP 542 , C - 50 , Gayo - 1 , Gayo - 2 , P - 88 and others. AKN but recommended by the local government is Gayo - 1 , Gayo - 2 and P - 88 .

Variety Gayo - 1
Variety Gayo - 1 is one of the varieties that have been released by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia as a high-yielding varieties ( Decision agriculture minister Decree No. 3998 / Kpts / SR.120 / 12/2010 , dated December 29, 2010 ) with the following characteristics :
  • High growth and sturdy
  • Color dark green leaves , pale -colored young brown
  • Young fruit Green colored net , Cooking fruit bright red , slightly elongated fruit shape , somewhat blunt tip and ripe fruit less in unison .
  • More tolerant to leaf rust disease ( Hemelia vasttrix , B et Br ) .
  • Physical quality and excellent brew .

Test results showed that flavor varieties Gayo - 1 Under accordance planted at an altitude of 1250 M above sea level 

Variety Gayo - 2
Variety Gayo - 2 also is a variety that has been released by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia as a high-yielding varieties ( the decision of the Minister of agriculture number : 3999 / Kpts / SR.120 / 12/2010 , dated December 29, 2010 ) .
With the following characteristics :
  • Type of high growth , widened with sturdy shrubs .
  • old leaves dark green , pale reddish brown .
  • Red fruit slightly rounded and pink .
  • moderately resistant to leaf rust disease Hemelia vasttrix , B et Br
  • physical quality and excellent brew .

taste test results showed that the varieties Gayo - 2 in accordance planted at an altitude above 1,400 M above sea level .

Variety P - 88
This variety comes from Thailand , brought to the region in early 1993. Gayo varieties P - 88 has a very good quality brew . therefore it is planned to be released nationally . Characterized by the following characteristics :
  • Type of moderate growth
  • Branching somewhat flexible , short segments
  • Color light green leaves , pale brown
  • red fruit red dull and covered in leaves
  • more tolerant to leaf rust disease Hemelia vasttrix , B et Br

Taste test shows that P - 88 appropriate varieties are grown at altitudes between 1,250 to 1,400 masl .
